@S J I love it and wanna go down there one year.

I think it deserves it’s own thread provided it’s in our backyard so to speak.

De Minaur looks like he will meet Rafa in a third round blockbuster which would be on RLA next Friday or Saturday Night!

Tomic plays 6th seed Cilic last year’s finalist in first round.

Kyrgios plays 16th seed Milos Raonic the massive serving Canadian.

It’s safe to say both will flop and be out without a whimper.

Millman can’t remember who he plays itbhe has a very winnable match.

If Ebden win his first match he would meet Rafa second round.

Federer could meet Greek sensation 20 year old Tsitsipas 15th in the world in the fourth round 1.

It’s hard to see any of our men getting past 3rd round. I predict De Minaur and Millman to both make third round and get knocked out.

I predict De Minaur to take a set off Nadal but Nadal to prevail in 4 sets.

Who the heck knows with Kyrgios. He can lose against the world's number 100 player but then beat the best.

Sabalenka loud screecher like Sharapova world number 11 in Barty’s side of draw along with Wozniacki world number 3 and Kvitova world number 8.

Ash can beat them if she plays well like she has been. Could make 4th round or quarters hopefully.

Great win by Barty again today I think it was against world number 12 Mertens.

    6-3, 6-3.

She’s in the semis now, not sure who she plays yet.

De Minaur just beat his Aussie mate Jordan Thompson 7-6 6-3. Never easy playing a mate.

    Into the semis he goes.

It would be good, but I couldn't sit in the boiling sun. I would need to be under cover.

Giant-killer Ashleigh Barty through to Sydney International final after beating world No. 9

Kiki Bertens hits a forehand on the run at the Sydney International.

Ashleigh Barty has continued her giantkilling run at the Sydney International with a thrilling three-set semi-final win over big-hitting world No.9 Kiki Bertens.

Barty withstood 15 aces from Bertens and rallied from a set down to beat the Dutchwoman 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 7-5 in a quality two-hour, 18-minute encounter on Friday to advance to her second-successive final in Sydney.

The Australian No.1 will play Czech fifth seed Petra Kvitova or Serbian qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich in Saturday’s final, hoping to complete the perfect lead-up for next week’s Australian Open in Melbourne.

After taking out 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko in the first round, Barty has toppled world No.1 Simona Halep, the 12th-ranked Elise Mertens and Bertens to send an ominious warning to her Open rivals.

“It’s amazing — it truly has been a phenomenal week of tennis,” Barty said. “I feel like I’ve played great the whole week. I’ve had tough opponents every single round and I’m really excited to have another shot at the title.”

Ash Barty hits a double-handed backhand to Kiki Bertens.

The world No.15 has shown remarkable mental resolve to back up her career-best win over Halep two days ago.

“Both Elise and Kiki were amazing opponents so that I knew I had to be switched on and play my best tennis to win.

“That’s the best part of this tournament. It’s so strong; every single round could be a final.

“So I have to be ready now and then I get to come out and enjoy tomorrow.”

Barty said it would be a dream to become the first Australian winner in Sydney since Alicia Molik 14 years ago.

Molik, who was courtside for Friday’s win, went on to reach the Australian Open quarter-finals a week later.

“It would be amazing,” the 22-year-old said.

“Mol — my Fed Cup captain, so I would love to try to be the next Australian. “But I’ll come out here tomorrow to enjoy it.”

Barty battled back from an early service break down, only to blow a 4-1 lead in the first-set tiebreaker on Ken Rosewall Arena.

Aided by three-consecutive unforced errors, including a double fault, Bertens reeled off six-straight points to snatch the opening set.

“I missed my opportunity in the first set. I changed my mind a couple of times in that tiebreak and it cost me,” Barty said.

“I knew all I had to do was hang around and fight as hard as I could and try to change it to my favour.”

    Bloody brilliant.

Due to rain last night the winner of De Minaur v Simon will have to back up in the final tonight...

That makes Seppi favourite for the final I’d say.

Big news guys with Andy Murray set for retirement due to a chronic hip problem,

He wants to play on to Wimbledon but may not be able to with the shocking pain.

I remember a few years ago on my betting site they had a special where you could bet on Aces. You literally could not lose. You backed the guy you thought would get the most aces and got a score for every ace. BUT - if you also backed his opponent you could set it so you won what ever occurred.

They don't offer it anymore. I think it was something to attract small punters like me. There were maximum bets etc.

@Rabbits 21 would call that "cheating", but I would call it being smart enough to see the loophole and take advantage of it! :D

Yes - my son picked it up and got me doing it. You didn't win a lot unless the guy who got all the aces won.
